How active carbon purifiers work
Activated carbon purifiers have different filtration stages, gradually finer, in order to progressively capture particles of different sizes; we pass from the first filter, class G4 for coarse dust, to the F7 pocket filters for fine dust, and then to activated carbon for fine odorous particles.
The filters offer a certain resistance to the passage of air, so the latter must be forced through them with a fan, placed downstream of the filters themselves, inside the same filter box or in a different arrangement if the dimensions are impose this solution.
In principle, the slower the air flows inside the filters, the better the filtering and the lower the power expenditure. To optimize the work of the fan, in addition to keeping the filters clean, it is therefore recommended not to over-use the filtering unit, or rather not to let it suck in a quantity of air higher than that of the project; otherwise this would end up wearing out the fan motor and not making the filters work at their best.
It is also advisable to limit the amount of air sucked in to the strictly necessary, placing the hood on the wall and, if possible, closing it at the sides.

An activated carbon purifier consists of a structure of extruded P40 aluminum profiles and nylon corners. The faces of the box thus obtained are in sandwich paneling, 25 mm thick, consisting of aluminum sheet (0.5 mm thick) and polyurethane foam between the two sheets.

The activated carbon purifiers with static cartridges are filter boxes for high performance BFSM.AP. They are built like the BFSM boxes but have in addition a filter of the F8 floppy pocket type with a pocket at 610 mm and an increase in size by 700 mm.
